Mouse Ears Magic Mom: Unveiling Disney Vacation Insights

Would you believe me if I told you that was the exact magic that created this website?

Gather around for a minute and let me tell you about my journey into the magical world of Disney. In addition, let me tell you why I am so freaking passionate about sharing my Disney vacation insights with other moms like myself.

The Spark

Do you remember seeing Disney vacation commercials as a kid? You know the ones. They would come on before our favorite Disney movies (many of which we were still watching on VHS tapes!) or during commercial breaks on the Disney channel. They featured Cinderella’s castle, or mouse ears on embroidered hats. Smiling families looking lovingly at each other, and of course, Mickey Mouse himself.

I vividly recall the excitement bubbling within my naive child self as I ran to my mother, asking when we could book our Disney vacation.

“When your brother is old enough.” She would say.

And I can remember receiving that answer time after time, ask after ask.

As I became an adult, I eventually made my way into motherhood myself. It was at this time I realized I was going to need to take my own damn self to Disney if I wanted to go. You see, at 21 years old, my brother still was apparently not old enough. (As of the date of this post, he is now 32 and still has not been to Disney. Apparently, some people just never grow up go be “old enough”. Luckily, I did manage to get my mom into the Disney bubble a few years back. I am glad to report, she is now, also, a Disney addict.)

Therefore, in 2013, with a bright eyed 5-year-old in tow, I made my first trip onto Disney property. I remember the excitement in her little voice as she started exclaiming she could see the castle from the monorail. This at the same time I quietly wiped the tears of joy from my own eyes. I remember her dad telling me how hard my baby girl was shaking on his shoulders from sheer enthusiasm during the opening show. Then he looks to me to realize I am experiencing same level of thrill.

To say I was hooked on the magic would be an understatement.

The memories created from this trip were nothing short of amazing. Alongside the memories though, also came lessons.

Lessons that would have save me dollars, time, and probably a few meltdowns. Lessons, that would later become Disney vacation insights that I would use on many trips to come.

Uncovering Hidden Gems

During each trip I have made, I have done what I do best…talked.

But not just talked. I have listened.

And you know what I have found?

There are a heck of a lot of other people out there who can benefit from the lessons that I have learned the hard way. In the parks, I have shared these lessons with others. During conversation made while standing in line waiting to meet characters, or even while waiting for the bill at dinner.

You know what I heard?

“I think you just saved my whole vacation!”, and, “I didn’t know things had gotten this complicated. Thank god I talked to you at the start of this trip!”

This was when I realized that the Disney calling that kept me coming back trip after trip might not just be for my own magical enjoyment. It also might be for that mom out there, who just like me before my first trip in 2013, is frantically researching everything on the internet. The mom who is trying to get the best Disney experience for their dime. The mom who may be stumbling upon my site to find that one nugget of information that makes or breaks her family’s Disney experience.

Maybe part of my Disney magic, is my ability to pixie dust her trip with the information I have acquired over the years.

Powering the Passion with Pixie Dust

You would think that after having made several trips to Disney over the last ten years I would be about over it. Instead, I am finding my experience quite the opposite.
